Paying for care

How can I pay?

Finding mental health care is tough. Figuring out how to pay for it can be tougher. Here is everything you need in one place, so that is one less thing to worry about.

Insurance and private pay accepted, and CareCredit is available

MySpectrum accepts many major insurance plans — including Medicare and Medicaid in Virginia, and some Medicaid plans in other states — and also welcomes private-pay clients. Coverage varies by plan, provider, and location. Our intake team can help verify benefits and explain private-pay options before scheduling.

Clients can request care whether they are using insurance or choosing private pay. Medicare, Medicaid, and EAP plans are accepted in Virginia, and some Medicaid plans in other states — Medicare in particular is not accepted at many Virginia practices.

Ways to pay

Insurance

We accept many major plans, including commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and EAPs. Acceptance is credentialed per individual provider, so please tell us your carrier as specifically as possible on the Get Started form.

Private pay

You are welcome here whether or not you use insurance. Self-pay rates are listed below and are the same regardless of why you choose to pay out of pocket.

CareCredit

CareCredit is available for clients who would like to spread the cost of care over time. Ask our intake team and they will walk you through how to apply and how it works with your sessions.

EAP

If you are using an EAP, ask your employer for the plan name — it is often different from your primary insurance — along with the authorization letter approving sessions with us.

Flexible financing with CareCredit.

Spread the cost of care over time with the CareCredit credit card. Ask our intake team and they will walk you through how to apply.

Questions to ask your insurance carrier

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • Do I have a co-pay for mental health services? If so, what is it?
  • What is my deductible, and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

Our intake team can help verify your benefits before scheduling, so you know what to expect.

Insurances accepted

Acceptance depends on the individual provider at MySpectrum, so please confirm your plan with our intake team. Plans are listed by state.

Payments and cards on file

We accept credit card payments and require a credit card on file prior to your first appointment. If you have Medicaid or are using an EAP, we will not charge your card. If there is any issue with placing a card on file, let the scheduler know. We charge the card on file after each session for anything you owe — your copay, deductible, or other responsible amount.

For convenience, you can make payments here.

We strive to provide a setting where you can focus on your wellness and not the financial aspects of attending therapy. If you have any questions, please let us know. Likewise, if you have any issues with making a payment, please also let us know. We know there is a cost to therapy, but this shouldn’t create a cost to your mental health and wellbeing!
